Fractions and Decimals

Mendel’s Magic Math Market Decimal Game

Decimal Games - Mendel’s Magic Math MarketIn this fun food-themed game, Mendel the glowworm will help you to discover fractions and decimals. If you complete all the magical fun activities in Mendel’s market, he’ll make you a Master Mathemagician! This is a brilliant game for people who are completely new to fractions and decimals. The cute pictures of fruit illustrate the concept of fractions and show you how to find the matching decimal, for example, 1/2 and 0.5. From e-learning for kids.

The Decimal Detectives

Decimal Games - The Decimal Detectives
The Decimal Detectives need your help. Join the detectives and their band of animal helpers to catch the suspect, the Crooked Decimal! Choose your skill level, Rookie or Sergeant, or pick the two-player option. As a Rookie, you’ll be working with 1 decimal place to corner the criminal and put him behind bars. When you progress to Sergeant mode, you will be working with numbers up to three decimal places to chase the Crooked Decimal through the back alleys. Make sure you stay hot on his trail! Fraction Booster

Fraction Games - Fractions Booster
An excellent fractions booster activity from BGFL. There are five levels to work through. In level 1 you simply type in the number of children to share the pizza and the pizza will be cut into fractions for you. At Level 2 you drag fractions to complete a fraction wall. In Level 3 you have to count the number of shaded squares and the total number of squares then type in the fraction (use a slash e.g. 1/4). Level 4 introduces a fraction numberline for you to drag the fractions onto. Level 5 uses a pizza to illustrate fraction equivalences.

Dolphin Racing

Fraction Games - Dolphin Racing
You can choose from easy or hard levels. The aim of the game is to compare the fractions and click on the one with the highest value. In the easy level you have four to choose from, but in the harder level you have six fractions to choose from. BBC Skillswise.

Fraction Ordering Game

Fraction Games - Order the FractionsIn this BBC Skillswise game you have to drag the fractions into the correct order, from the smallest at the bottom to the largest at the top. There are three different levels. At the easiest level all the fractions are one part, e.g. 1/6, 1/3, 1/4.

Equivalent Fractions

Fraction Games - Equivalent Fractions Use the buttons to make the shape on the left match the shape on the right using a different, but equivalent, fraction. As well as the game there are also some useful fraction equivalence demonstrators at the same site.
